Why TapIn?

Every visit becomes something you can grow.

Door counts tell you how many came in. TapIn turns the moments in between into members, donations and data your board can read.

01
Increase memberships

Invite visitors to join at the exhibit that just won them over — not at the exit.

02
Increase donations

A one-tap prompt beside the exhibits people care about most.

03
Real-time exhibit data

See which exhibits draw visitors, hold them and turn them into supporters

04
More visitor interaction

Polls, feedback and a live Reflection Wall turn visitors into participants.

Memberships & donations

Ask at the moment they care most.

A visitor standing under a blue whale is more likely to give than one walking past the gift shop. Every exhibit page ends with one clear ask — become a member, donate, sign up or tell you what they think.

Pick the ask for each exhibit and change it whenever you like. No reprinting, no new signage.

Fossil & Field Museum of Natural History
Blue Whale
The largest animal that has ever lived
Our 87-foot skeleton belonged to a female who stranded in 1987. Her heart alone weighed as much as a small car, and her calls could be heard by other whales 1,000 miles away. Walk beneath her ribs to feel just how big she was.
Blue whales were hunted to the edge of extinction. Today around 10,000 remain, and our scientists help track them along the Atlantic coast.

Up and running in days.

No IT project. TapIn reads your website and builds a page for each exhibit, so you can start collecting members and data as soon as the disks arrive.

Tell us about your venue

Your name, your website and the spaces you want to cover.

TapIn builds your exhibit pages

We read your site and draft a page for each exhibit — preview it on a phone as you go.

Edit, then publish

Change any word or image. Save drafts or publish all at once, then point a TapPoint at each page.

Reflection wall

Let visitors become part of the exhibit.

Visitors tap, share a thought, and see it appear on a live display in your venue seconds later. It keeps people in the room longer — and shows the next visitor that this place listens.

What did the Blue Whale make you feel?
Live

“I didn’t know her heart was the size of a car. My daughter wants to be a marine biologist now.”

Maya

“Tiny. In the best way.”

Theo

“Sad that only 10,000 are left. Glad someone is tracking them.”

Jordan

“We came for the dinosaurs and stayed for the whale.”

Ada

“Walking under the ribs gave me chills.”

Sam

“Can you imagine hearing her call from 1,000 miles away?”

Priya

“Third visit this year. Still my favourite room.”

Marcus

“Makes me want to protect the ocean.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our products or services? Our comprehensive FAQ section provides answers to the most common inquiries.

What is TapIn?

TapIn connects physical objects to digital experiences with a simple phone tap. Place a disk beside an exhibit and visitors open a page instantly — stories, video, membership and donation prompts — while you capture verified engagement insights.

How does TapIn work?

Each disk holds a secure NFC tag. When a visitor holds their smartphone near it, the exhibit page opens in their browser. You build and edit pages in the TapIn dashboard and assign them to disks.

Do visitors need to download an app?

No. TapIn works with the NFC reader built into modern smartphones. No app, no power at the exhibit, no extra hardware.

What museums can use TapIn for?

• Exhibit stories, video and imagery
• Verified engagement data for grant support
• Memberships and donations
• Visitor feedback and event registration
• Volunteer and staff time tracking
• Announcements across every exhibit

What makes TapIn different from QR codes?

TapIn verifies real physical interaction. QR codes can be shared and screenshots reused. A tap confirms someone was at a specific exhibit at a specific time.

How do I get started with TapIn?

Order the starter kit: 5 generic TapIn disks and a 90-day plan for $150. Custom-branded disks are part of a custom plan — design them free in our editor, upload your own artwork, or have our team design them. Build your exhibit pages while the disks ship, then place them and watch the taps come in. The $150 credits 100% towards a custom plan — contact us when you are ready to grow!
